Oxo Spoons and Forks – as featured in Vogue!

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

Introducing the OXO Tot baby fork and spoon set.

OXO tot baby fork and spoons come as a set in two different colours, green and aqua, to compliment the Oxo Tot Training Plate, Training Cup and Sippy Cup.

These OXO Tot designer baby spoons and forks are chunky and easy to use, rubust enough to stand up to the most enthusiast babies “drumming” and the inevitable launch from the high chair.

“Generous curved handles with soft, non-slip grips are easy for little tot to hold, while the flat spot on the handles prevent the set from rolling off the highcahir or table.”

The latest addition to our ever-growing range of Oxo Tot feeding products is the unique and stylish Oxo Tot Sprout High Chair, as featured alongside Not Just Another Baby on the Mamas and Munchkins page of June’s issue of Vogue. This sleek, contemporary high chair fits easily into every home but most importantly is easy to clean due to it’s smooth edges – no nooks or crannies for hardened weetabix to hide!

The clever high, low and junior settings mean that the Sprout grows with your child, so when they are too big to be strapped into a high chair they still get the benefit of an elevated seat to sit to the table, not only for meals but for colouring, play dough – maybe even painting, if you are feeling brave!

OXO TOT PRODUCTS

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

Having just read the blog on the OXO TOT range of baby products I thought I would tell you about some of their other products I have purchased over the past few months. I too am a great fan and love the look and feel of the products, they also look a little different from many other brands which allows you to identify your little ones items easily – great if they attend day care or a crèche!
Not being a natural cook I was a little daunted by the first purees I made for my son until a friend of mine recommended OXO TOT’s Baby Food Ricer. This allowed me to make nutritious purees from scratch. The ricer tackles fruits and vegetables such as bananas and butternut squash in an instant, producing medium consistency purees, this along with the Baby Food Freezer Tray made the first few weeks of weaning my son so much easier. The idea behind the tray is that you can freeze individual portions, allowing you to release them one at a time and then increase the portion size as your baby grows. Several months on and I now frequently use the Flip Top Snack Cup, this has a non-slip grip and a wide opening which means my little boy can reach his snacks with ease in the safety of his buggy or car seat – it also keeps himself entertained by flipping the attached lid up and down!
Another life-saver has been the OXO TOT Dishwasher Basket. This great little piece of kit means that losing small bottle teats and tops is a thing of the past. The basket holds up to eight bottle teat and the doors open symmetrically to stop everything tumbling out when loading and unloading.
I have also recently bought the Tooli 2 Light Set* for my two year old niece. These great little lights come in different shapes and colours and provide a great static nightlight as well as a removable hand-held light to encourage those brave midnight trips!

OXO TOT GOODIES

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

I have just bought a variety of products from the fabulous OXO TOT range. I hadn’t heard of the brand name before but having taken recently ordered a Sippy Cup for my 7 month old daughter (with its removable handles and essential leakproof lid!) I was so impressed with the quality and durability that I ordered further items from OXO TOT’s range of baby equipment.

These include the Training Cup and Training Plate for my 2 year old son, who is becoming increasingly independent when it comes to feeding/throwing his food! I introduced my son to a cup recently but became so sick of the juice and water spills that I gave up and went back to the safety of a beaker. The great thing about the Training Cup is the lid has small holes around the top which control the flow of liquid as your toddler tilts the cup to drink, hereby reducing spills. As more control is gained you can remove the lid to convert it to a regular cup – genius! Similar thinking has gone into the Training Plate. These plates are slightly weighted for extra stability along with a non-slip base and a removable ring which not only helps keep food stay inside the plate rather than letting it escape onto the floor or those tiny little cracks in the high chair! It also aids your little one to guide food onto a fork or spoon with a little more ease. When my son gets a little more adept at the art of self-feeding, with the help of OXO’s cleverly designed Fork and Spoon Set which I also bought, I can remove the ring – although this may not be for a few years to come!

Lastly, the Small and Large bowl Sets are a great buy if your little one is just starting on finger food.  I have bought these, probably prematurely, for my 7 month old. The high-sided straight walls help her little hands scoop food from the bowl – again limiting the amount that ends up on the floor. They have a non-slip base to help prevent tips and spills and they come with a lid to help keep leftovers fresh – or if you are running late (I am always!) and need to feed your baby snacks on the move.

I’m sure OXO TOT must have other fab products in their range which I must check out when I get a mo, in the meantime I’m sure the above utensils will be fully road-tested by my little ones!
